Your child's height (cm): ℹ️
Measuring the height of a newborn baby is simple, just take a tape measure (a tape with divisions in centimeters from 0 to 100 cm) and place the baby on a hard, flat surface, such as a changing table. Place the tape on the table to the side of the baby, and with your free hands gently press the legs to the table so that they are stretched out as much as possible. І
Your child's chest circumference (cm): ℹ️
Lay your baby on his back on a flat surface, such as a changing table. Take a measuring tape and carefully wrap it around your baby's chest at the level of the nipples. The tape should fit snugly, but not too tightly, against the body. Do not tighten the tape, as pulling the tape too tight will result in incorrect measurements, which will make the garment too tight. For a more accurate measurement, take it when the child inhales, as this covers most of the chest volume. Alternative: If you have difficulty measuring directly on your child, you can measure the circumference of existing clothing that fits your child well. Keep in mind that for children's clothing, you can often add a few centimeters for a loose fit and "for growth". І
Your child's waist circumference (cm): ℹ️
To measure your baby's waist, lay your baby on a flat surface, find the narrowest part of their belly, and gently wrap a soft measuring tape around it. Make sure the tape is flat, horizontal, and not too tight to restrict your baby's movement and breathing. For a more accurate result, you can first tie a ribbon or thread around your waist, and then measure the length of the ribbon with a ruler. The ribbon should not put too much pressure on the tummy so as not to interfere with breathing and movement. Keep in mind that for children's clothing, you can often add a few centimeters for a loose fit and "for growth". І
Your child's hip circumference (cm): ℹ️
To measure your baby's hip circumference, lay your baby on a flat surface. Use a measuring tape, running it horizontally around the widest part of your baby's body, which is where the buttocks are at their widest point. It's important not to pull the tape too tight to get an accurate measurement. Do not press or pull the tape too tightly, as this will result in inaccurate measurements. Keep in mind that children's clothing often allows for a few inches of extra room for loose fit and "growth". І
