When sewing the pieces, pay attention to the notches – they must match!
1. Reinforce the skirt facings with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch the darts on the back yoke. Press the darts toward the center of the piece.
3. Back panel assembly: along the upper edge of the upper flounce, sew a row of loose stitches. Gather the edge to the length of the lower edge of the back yoke, distributing the gathers evenly. Attach the upper flounce to the yoke. Press the seam upward and overcast.
4. Along the upper edge of the lower flounce, sew a row of loose stitches. Gather the edge to the length of the lower edge of the upper flounce, distributing the gathers evenly. Attach the lower flounce to the upper flounce. Press the seam upward and overcast.
5. Front panel assembly is similar to the back panel assembly.
6. Stitch the left side seam from the zipper mark downwards. Press the seam open, pressing the allowance for the zipper, and overcast. Place the invisible zipper under the allowances and stitch so that the teeth are not visible.
7. Align the skirt along the right side edge and trim it straight. Stitch and overcast the right side seam. Press the seam toward the back.
8. Stitch and press open the side edge of the facings. Overcast the lower edge. Place the facings to the upper edge of the skirt, right sides together, and stitch. Topstitch the facing seam allowance 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the facings to the wrong side and press.
9. Press the hem allowance of the skirt to the wrong side, fold, and topstitch.
