Work Description:
Materials and Tools:
- Blouse pattern.
- Fabric.
- Fusible interfacing.
- Sewing machine.
- Matching thread.
- Needles, pins, scissors.
- Iron.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Prepare the pieces: Apply fusible interfacing to the following pieces: front bands, cuffs, and facings for the back and front.
- Make darts: Sew the waist darts on the back and the bust darts on the front. Press the waist darts toward the center and the bust darts upward.
- Process the front band: Press the seam allowance of the band to the wrong side. Fold the band along the edge line to the right side, sew the top and bottom corners, and trim the neckline seam allowance near the mark. Overlock the neckline edge from the mark to the front edge. Turn the band to the wrong side, press, and topstitch 0.1 cm from the inner folded edge.
- Finish the neckline: Fold the overlocked neckline edge to the wrong side and topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
- Sleeves: Sew the pleats on the sleeves according to the markings. Attach the sleeve to the back and then to the front. Press and overlock the seams.
- Join the sides: Sew the side seams and the sleeve seams in one continuous seam. Press and overlock the seam allowances.
- Facings: Sew the front facings to the back facing. Place the facings right sides together and sew along the perimeter. Clip the seam allowances at the curves and corners, turn right side out, and press.
- Attach the facing: Sew the facing to the neckline. Fold the inner edge of the facing and topstitch along the seamline.
- Cuffs: Place the cuffs right sides together, sew the side seams and corners, turn them right side out, and press.
- Bind the sleeve slit: Cut a bias tape 18×3 cm. Cut the sleeve along the slit line. Open the sleeve along the slit and bind the edges with the bias tape. Adjust the sleeve hem to match the cuff width.
- Attach the cuffs: Sew the cuff to the sleeve hem, fold the inner edge, and topstitch along the seamline.
- Hem the blouse: Press the hem to the wrong side, fold, and topstitch.
- Final touch: Overlock the buttonholes and sew the buttons on the front bands and cuffs.
