Sewing a men’s work robe

  1. Preparing pieces: Cut front panels, back, sleeves, collar stand, placket, tab and pockets.

  2. Sew patch pockets: two lower on the front panels and one upper on the left front.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams, then side seams. Leave the back vent. Attach the tab at the waistline and secure with buttons.
  4. Sew sleeves along their length, set them into the armholes.
  5. Assemble the collar stand and attach to the neckline.
  6. Finish the placket, make a button closure with 6 buttons.
  7. Hem the robe, finish sleeve hems, check seam strength.
