Yokes on back and fronts, epaulettes with snaps. Upper collar made of faux fur with tab, waist volume adjustable with drawstring. Sewing the insulated security guard jacket

Preparation

  • Cut all pieces from main fabric, lining, insulation, and faux fur.
  • Reinforce small parts (plackets, flaps, tabs) with interfacing.
  • Prepare zipper, snaps, velcro tape, and drawstrings.

Hood

  • Sew side and central parts together.
  • Attach casing for drawstring.
  • Finish velcro fastening.
  • Join with lining, turn inside out, and topstitch edges.

Collar

  • Sew lower collar with facing, cut upper collar from faux fur.
  • Join upper and lower collar, insert tab.
  • Attach collar to neckline of jacket.

Front and back

  • Sew yokes with central and side parts of fronts.
  • Make chest welt pockets and lower patch pockets with flaps.
  • Sew side and shoulder seams.
  • Attach back yoke, sew waistband casing for adjustment.

Sleeves

  • Sew upper and lower sleeve parts.
  • Attach cuffs with tabs.
  • Sew sleeves into armholes.

Fastening

  • Sew zipper to front edges.
  • Attach plackets with snaps over zipper.
  • Topstitch for strength.

Lining and insulation

  • Sew lining similar to main jacket.
  • Place insulation between lining and main fabric.
  • Join along edges, leave opening for turning.
  • Turn inside out, topstitch hem and front edges.

Finishing

  • Attach hood with snaps.
  • Install all fastenings.
  • Press and check fit.
