Leather jacket sewing pattern with belt model 44703 (Product code: 44703)

Recommended fabrics for this pattern: faux leather.

You also need: lining fabric, 4 buttons, buckle for the belt.

Add seam allowances to the pattern: hem allowance for garment bottom and sleeve hem – 4.5 cm, allowance for the top edge of the pocket – 4 cm, other seams – 1 cm.

CUTTING:

From faux leather:

1. Back – 1 piece

2. Front – 2 pieces

3. Sleeve – 2 pieces

4. Cuff – 2 pieces

5. Belt – 1 piece

6. Loop – 1 piece

7. Back neckline facing – 1 piece

8. Front facing – 2 pieces

9. Upper collar – 1 piece

10. Under collar – 1 piece

11. Pocket – 1 piece

12. Flap – 1 piece

From lining fabric:

1. Back – 1 piece

2. Front – 2 pieces

3. Sleeve – 2 pieces

4. Pocket – 1 piece

5. Flap – 1 piece

ATTENTION: lining pieces for front and back are cut without the width of facings and back neckline facing. Lining sleeves are cut without the width of the cuff.

Before fusing details from faux leather, test on a scrap piece.

1. Place flap pieces right sides together and stitch along three sides. Trim seam allowances at corners and turn right side out. Press seams. Overcast the free edge of the flap. Work buttonholes as marked.

2. Attach pocket lining to the facing of the pocket top, leaving a 5 cm opening in the middle of the seam for turning. Stitch lining to side and bottom edges of the pocket. Turn and press. Topstitch 3 cm from the top edge, closing the opening. Mark pocket placement on the right front. Stitch pocket to front. Attach flap to front, turn down and topstitch.

3. Place upper collar with under collar right sides together and stitch. Trim corners, turn, press.

4. Place facing on front right sides together and stitch along edge. Stitching is done up to the notch marking collar insertion. Trim seams at corners. Turn facings right side out, press.

5. Sew shoulder seams. Press open.

6. Sew shoulder seams of back neckline facing and front facings. Press open. Insert collar between jacket and facings. Sew under collar to jacket neckline, upper collar to facing neckline. Press allowances. Turn facings inside. Align seams. From upper collar side, stitch exactly in neckline seam.

7. Set in sleeve into open armhole.

8. Sew sleeve seam and side seam in one. Press open.

9. Fold belt loop in 3 layers and stitch. Cut into 2 pieces. Attach loops to side seam.

10. Sew cuff into ring. Press seam. Attach cuff to sleeve hem. Turn and press.

11. Sew lining pieces, leaving opening in left sleeve seam. Place lining and jacket right sides together, stitch to facings and back neckline facing. Stitch lower corner of front. Trim seams. Attach sleeve lining to cuff.

12. Sew lining to jacket hem. Turn jacket through sleeve opening, press seams, close opening.

13. Fold belt lengthwise right sides together, stitch three sides leaving 7–10 cm opening. Turn and press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from edge, closing opening. Insert buckle.

14. Work buttonholes on right front, sew buttons on left front. ATTENTION: Buttonholes are also worked on lapels of both fronts.
