1. Form pleats on the front pieces according to the direction of the arrows and baste them.

2. SIDE POCKETS WITH SEPARATE SIDE PANELS. Finish the pocket openings of the front pieces neatly with the upper pocket bags and topstitch at 0.5 cm. Attach the lower pocket bags to the side panels of the front trouser pieces. Pin the front pieces to the side panels, aligning the pocket openings with the marked lines. Stitch the pocket bags together from the wrong side. Baste the pocket bags to the front pieces.

3. ZIPPER CLOSURE. Stitch the front center seam from the notch down 4 cm. Finish the right side of the opening with the fly facing and baste. Turn the allowances of the left side to the wrong side, place the zipper under the fold and baste so that the teeth are close to the fold. Finish the fly shield along the curved edge. Baste the shield under the left side of the opening. Topstitch the left side close to the edge, catching the zipper and shield. Pin the opening. Attach the free zipper tape to the fly facing and stitch, without catching the right trouser piece. Topstitch the right front along the marked line, catching the fly facing.

4. Stitch the darts on the back pieces.

5. BACK WELT POCKETS WITH SET-IN ENDS. Press a strip of interfacing about 4 cm wide on the wrong side of the back piece over the pocket marking. Fold under the allowance of one long edge of the facing and stitch it to the back pocket bag. Place the welt and pocket bag with facing right sides together with the back piece and stitch along the marked lines. Cut the opening between the stitching lines, clipping diagonally to the ends. Do not damage the pocket pieces! Press the seam allowances open. Pull the pocket bag through to the wrong side. Turn the welt to the wrong side and adjust so its fold reaches the seam. Stitch the welt in the seam from the right side. Attach the second pocket bag to the welt allowances from the wrong side. Turn the small triangles at the ends to the wrong side and stitch them to the welt. Trim pocket bags to equal size and stitch together.

6. Waistband. Attach waistband pieces to the upper edges of the trousers, stitching the waistband extension to the fly shield. Fold waistband pieces lengthwise in half and finish the short ends. Turn under the inner waistband edges and stitch to the seam allowances. Topstitch waistband close to the edge. Stitch the remaining unsewn section of the front center seam and continue with the back center seam up to the waistband. Work a buttonhole on the right end of the waistband.

7. Stitch side seams and inseams.

8. Hem the trousers.
